I enjoy writing, but I lack the skill to be particularly good at it and the patience or concentration span to tackle anything longer then short fiction.  I am a firm believer that basic writing skills improve considerably if you write on a regular basis; however, I've let the frequency of my writing slip a lot since I finished studying last year.  I intend to start writing on a far more regularly to get back up to speed.

I found this forum after it was mentioned on another site.  I'm eager to post work here to get some critical feedback and hope to get better as a result of reading advice.  I also enjoy reading other peoples writing, it's always helpful and entertaining.  Unfortunately, I don't yet have the confidence to reply with anything useful in comments on others work, but again I'm hoping that'll change very soon.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome Gefra. No worries about commenting just yet. Get nice and comfortable here, and take your time. It's good to get to know you, and I do look forward to reading more of your work (about to finish a crit on your posted piece). Please, feel free to look around, and maybe post a bit in the word games area. It's a good way to get to know everyone, and just get comfortable. If you have any questions, please feel free to let either me or Locke know! Welcome to FFF.

Indeed!

Developing a habit of writing can he difficult, but once a pattern begins to set in, it starts to become easier.  I, too, have let my time get consumed by other things and am in the uphill struggle to reclaim it as writing time.

Recently I decided to decrease the frequency of my flash writing in order to focus on larger projects, so I have plenty of comments for everybody.  I can carry your weight on the critiques for a while, so don't worry about it.  Get comfy, settle in, and just write.

I am interested to find out what site wound up referring you here.
